Diaries of the Great Patriotic War on TV screens

The Belarus 3 TV channel together with the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) presented a documentary project «Pages of War Diaries» dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. It consists of several episodes based on «Notes of a Partisan» by Pyotr Volkodayev, as well as the diaries of Nikolai Loban and Anton Aleshko.

Pyotr Volkodayev, Nikolai Loban and Anton Aleshko are Belarusian writers, participants in the Great Patriotic War. The originals of the notes they made during the years of struggle and courage are stored in their personal funds of the archive-museum. The uniqueness of the presented diaries is that they reflect specific events, as well as human feelings and emotions, allowing us to feel the inner world of those who brought the Great Victory closer, to understand their thoughts and aspirations.

The diaries stored in the personal collections of the BGAMLI were previously used in scientific and educational publications, as well as at exhibitions. Thanks to the TV project, the general public of Belarus and other countries will be able to get to know them better.
