Olga Aleksandrovna Ledovskaya, First Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, and Anna Vladimirovna Kochetkova, Deputy Head of the Department of Records Management, Formation and Preservation of the NAF of the Department, visited the institution «State Archives of the Vitebsk Region» on a working visit

On June 11-12, 2025, in order to implement the action plan of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus to provide methodological assistance to state archival institutions in the areas of activity, Olga Aleksandrovna Ledovskaya, First Deputy Director of the Department, and Anna Vladimirovna Kochetkova, Deputy Head of the Department of Records Management, Formation and Preservation of the NAF of the Department, visited the institution «State Archives of the Vitebsk Region».

Representatives of the Department got acquainted with the work of archivists in the archive buildings at 22 Kalinina Street, 32 Lenin Street and 90a Frunze Avenue. In the reconstructed building of the archive storage facility at 90a Frunze Avenue, the work on filling it with documents was studied. The results of the work on interaction with sources of archive acquisition, provision of paid services for scientific and technical processing of documents were considered.

The work of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region on ensuring the safety of documents, declassification was analyzed. Particular attention was paid to the digitization of documents, work on the creation of a scientific reference apparatus.

During the meeting with the staff, current issues of the activities of archival institutions were discussed, in particular the direction of preparing exhibitions and implementing forms of using documents to cover significant historical dates and fundamental events in the history of Belarusian statehood.

Representatives of the Department also visited the state institution «Vitebsk City Archive», whose employees presented the results of their work in the main areas of activity.
