Conducting lessons for the pupils of the health camp «Friendship» of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.3 named after O.I. Solomova of Grodno» within the framework of the International Archives Week and the republican campaign «Archives – to School» in the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On June 12, 2025, within the framework of the International Archives Week and the republican campaign «Archives – to School», the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region» for the pupils of the health camp «Friendship» of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.3 named after O.I.Solomova of Grodno» held 2 lessons on the topics «State Archives of the Grodno Region: History and Modernity» and «Echo of War».

The archive staff told the schoolchildren about the history, specifics of the institution’s activities, the composition and content of the stored documents. The children were shown documentary materials reflecting the criminal activities of the Nazi invaders in the Grodno region during the Great Patriotic War. The children were very interested in the memories of war participants, as well as documents and materials about the activities of anti-fascist formations in the Grodno region.

In the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents, the students observed the process of restoring large-format documents. The schoolchildren also visited the archive, where they learned about the conditions and features of storing documents.
