Archivists participate in the International event «Night of Museums – 2025» in Polotsk

On May 17, 2025, the beloved event «Night of Museums» took place in Polotsk. This year it was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

It was impossible to pass by. Near the museum, teachers and students of Secondary School No.14 named after M.S. Grinevich of Polotsk presented an open-air concert program «We Live and Remember».

Thematic excursions were organized in the museum halls. Students of middle and high schools acted as tour guides. Materials collected by famous Polotsk local historians of the 20th century were prepared especially for this excursion. Visitors to the museum got acquainted with the most interesting, the most vivid, but, unfortunately, forgotten pages of history, which were presented in the interpretation of children. Polotsk residents and guests of the city heard many facts for the first time. The Zonal State Archive in Polotsk acted as a partner in holding the Night of Museums in the Polotsk Museum of Local History.

Head of the Department of Use and Publication of Documents Dichkevich Marina Mikhailovna took part in four thematic excursions, presented the project «Open Film Archive».

There was a demonstration of documentaries of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents «On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Vitebsk Region from the Nazi Invaders» and «The History of the Great Victory», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War.
