Employees of the archive of public associations of the Gomel region took part in the presentation of the book «Gomel partisan region»

On May 16, 2025, employees of the institution «State archive of public associations of the Gomel region» took part in the presentation of the book «Gomel partisan region», which took place in the Gomel regional museum of military glory.

The publication tells about the main milestones in the development and formation of the partisan movement in the Gomel and Polesie regions during the Great Patriotic War, the bright stages of the struggle of the people’s avengers and examples of heroism. The book emphasizes that the enemy managed to capture our land, but failed to conquer the Belarusians. We have been associated with the glory of the partisan region for centuries, the region of unbroken people who do not lose their dignity and spiritual strength in the most difficult conditions.

The book uses original materials and documents from the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the State Archives of the Gomel Region, the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region, the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory, and the museum fund of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble. This is a kind of chronicle of heroic years lived in conditions of daily, minute-by-minute struggle with a fierce enemy – a chronicle of the true feat of the Belarusian people.
