The Rechitsa Zonal State Archive presents a little-known document about the Great Patriotic War – a certificate about the death of a partisan family
As is known, during the occupation, the Nazi invaders carried out punitive actions against civilians. Those who were suspected of having ties to partisans or whose relatives were partisans were especially subject to this fate.
The Rechitsa City Executive Committee’s collection permanently stores a certificate (F. 342. Op. 1. D. 132. L. 29), compiled on July 1, 1967 by the instructor of the Rechitsa District Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Alexander Vasilyevich Korbatenko, who served as the secretary of the Rechitsa Underground District Committee of the Komsomol and deputy commissar of the Voroshilov Partisan Brigade of the Gomel Partisan Unit. In this document, the author confirms that the family of the former commander of the subversive group Ivan Makarovich Shcherbinsky – his wife and three children (only his son Valery was with his father in the detachment) – was shot by the Nazis in February 1943 in the village of Perevoloka in the Rechitsa district.
