The State Archives in Glubokoe held a round table «Oh, women, we glorify your work!»

On the eve of International Women’s Day on March 8, the Zonal State Archives in Glubokoe together with the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Glubokoe District Executive Committee, as part of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Glubokoe District, held a round table «Oh, women, we glorify your work!» dedicated to Women’s Day.

The event was attended by representatives of the district executive committee, members of the district public organization «Belarusian Union of Women» and laureates of the regional stage of the competition «Woman of the Year» 2000-2025.

The event was opened by the Deputy Chairperson of the Glubokoe District Executive Committee Tatyana Tarasevich.

The Head of the Department for the Use and Publication of Documents of the State Archives Tatyana Avlasova held a presentation of the exhibition of archival documents «Glory in the Hands of Labor». The documents presented at the exhibition tell about the life and work of two women – Maria Yarmolovich, the foreman of the complex brigade of the Glubokoe experimental forestry enterprise, laureate of the USSR State Prize, and Vera Shinkevich, a machine milking operator, order bearer, laureate of the BSSR State Prize.

Those present got acquainted with the thematic stand prepared by the archive staff, which displayed posters from the Soviet period depicting strong, confident girls, women calling for education, work, sports, and motherhood.

During the round table, the participants received congratulations and shared their impressions.

In her closing remarks, the deputy chairperson of the district organization «BSZh» Anzhela Dyrko promised the State Archives employees that soon among the documents of personal origin there will also be documents of the winners of the «Woman of the Year of the Vitebsk Region» competition.
