On the visit of 10th-grade students of Brest Gymnasium No.5 to the State Archives of the Brest Region

On the eve of the anniversary date of the archive’s foundation, as well as within the framework of the «Archives to School» campaign, on February 6, 2025, the State Archives of the Brest Region were visited by 10th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.5 of Brest».

Head of the Department of Use and Publication of Documents Galina Kalustova told the children about the creation of the State Archives of the Brest Region 85 years ago, on February 11, 1940. The students learned what documents the archive contains, including those testifying to the difficult years of the occupation of Brest.

At the end of the lecture, the students were shown the film «On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brest from the Nazi Invaders» prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

After the lecture, the students visited the archive storage facility and the laboratory for repair and restoration of archival documents.
