BGAMLI took part in the presentation of a joint virtual project with the National Library of Belarus dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Pesnyary ensemble

On December 12, 2024, BGAMLI employees headed by Director E.A.Makarenko visited the National Library of Belarus. The Labyrinth Gallery hosted a creative evening «Pesnyary: Prayer of Voices and Hearts» dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Belarusian State Ensemble Pesnyary.

Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus L.Yu.Vysotskaya addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. Chief bibliographer of the Information and Analytical Department Yu.V.Amosova spoke about the virtual project «Pesnyary: Prayer of Voices and Hearts». Director of BGAMLI E.A.Makarenko expressed her opinion on the important role of archives in preserving the cultural heritage of Belarus and popularizing it. Archival materials about the activities of the Pesnyary ensemble help to restore the context of the time in which the works were created, and also provide an opportunity to see how the ensemble’s style and repertoire changed over the decades.

During the event, an exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the musical group was demonstrated, where those present got acquainted with an anthology of the creative heritage of Vladimir Mulyavin and the Pesnyary ensemble. The festive and sincere atmosphere of the evening was created by the guests of honor – Vladislav Misevich – one of the founders of the Pesnyary ensemble, Vladimir Tkachenko – one of the former members of the Pesnyary ensemble, Alexander Terekhov – director of the Children’s Music School of Arts No.2 named after M.I.Aladov, as well as students and teachers of this institution, who performed musical numbers.

As a result of the meeting between E.A.Makarenko and V.G.Mulyavin’s daughter, O.V.Mulyavina, an agreement was reached on her visiting BGAMLI.
