A Cooperation Agreement between the School and the Zonal State Archives was signed in Molodechno

The cooperation agreement was signed by the heads of two institutions in Molodechno: Secondary School No.14 and the Zonal State Archives. This significant event opens up new horizons for in-depth study of history and patriotic education of students.

The director of the State Institution «Secondary School No.14 in Molodechno» Kalina Viktorovna Kaputskaya emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and the significance of access to archival materials for the educational process. She expressed hope for fruitful cooperation, which will become the basis for holding various events aimed at informational, historical and patriotic education. By the way, the educational institution sacredly honors and preserves historical memory, is proud of the heroic past of its people: the school houses the Museum of Memory of Internationalist Soldiers, which has the status of «people’s», the Hall of Memory of the Victims of the Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War in the Molodechno region was created, the military-patriotic club «Almaz» and specialized patriotic classes operate, and other areas of ideological and military-patriotic work are being implemented.

In turn, the director of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno Inna Zenonovna Pudakevich spoke about the goals and objectives of the Agreement. In particular, the plans include organizing joint scientific research, conferences, seminars, round tables, conducting off-site training sessions and excursions to the state archives of the Republic of Belarus for school students, exchanging experiences and jointly searching for new effective forms and mechanisms of ideological support for educational, scientific and educational work aimed at preserving historical memory, fostering spirituality and morality in society. During the event, already within the framework of the Agreement, Inna Zenonovna handed over to the school some digital copies of particularly valuable documents that reflect the facts of genocide on the Molodechno land. Such heritage will complement the set of materials presented in the regional museum exposition, located on the school premises.

During the event, the head of the department of use and publication of documents Elena Aleksandrovna Tomkovich also spoke, who gave a presentation on the archive and options for cooperation, dwelling in detail on the possibility of targeted recruitment to a higher educational institution with subsequent guaranteed employment in the zonal state archive.

At the end of the event, many words were said about the importance of archives, and schoolchildren performed a concert number. The participants of the event expressed confidence that the partnership between the two institutions will bring a lot of new knowledge and open up unique opportunities for students to study the history of their country.

The agreement between the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno and the educational institution became a logical continuation of the events within the framework of the republican campaign «Archives – to School», initiated by the Department of Archives and Records Management and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. The Zonal State Archives actively participates in it: since 2022, the institution has covered more than 5,000 schoolchildren from the Molodechno, Volozhin, Vileika and Myadel districts, who became participants in excursion, exhibition, research and information projects.
