On the visit to the Mass Grave and the laying of flowers by an employee of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, an employee of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region» visited the monument to Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1943.

There are 771 soldiers of the Red Army buried in the mass grave. 506 people are named, the rest remain unknown. Among those known by name in the mass grave are soldiers of the 13th Army who died defending the region in August 1941, soldiers of the 50th Army who took part in the liberation of the region in September 1943, as well as those who died in 4 hospitals that were based in the city from September 1943 to June 1944.

The mass grave is located in the city cemetery in Klimovichi. It is presented in the form of a marble wall of five marble slabs on which the names of the dead are engraved.
