On the implementation of the republican campaign «Archives for School» in the institution «Zonal State Archive in Polotsk»

On December 4, 2024, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the institution «Zonal State Archive in Polotsk» was visited by 2nd-year students of the specialty «Development and Maintenance of Information Systems Software» of the educational institution «Polotsk State Economic College».

The information hour «Archival Construction in Polotsk Region» was held by the head of the Department of Use and Publication of Documents Dichkevich Marina Mikhailovna, told the students about the formation and development of the archival service in the Polotsk region, the main areas of the archive’s work, the composition of documents and storage features. The students had the opportunity to hold in their hands archival documents that are more than a hundred years old.
Second-category archivist Semchenko Maria Olegovna held a master class for students on the restoration of archival documents.

As part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» the video clip of BGAKFFD «On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Vitebsk region from the Nazi invaders» was shown.
Also, a sightseeing tour of the archive was held for the students.
