BGAKFFD at the joint exhibition «Two Masters. Two Friends»

Employees of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) took part in the opening of the exhibition «Two Masters. Two Friends», prepared jointly with the Republican Public Association «Belarusian Union of Cinematographers» and the Mikhail Savitsky Art Gallery. The opening took place on October 31 at the Mikhail Savitsky Art Gallery. The exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema and the 30th anniversary of the Union of Cinematographers, is dedicated to the work of theater and film artists, Honored Artist Vyacheslav Grigorievich Kubarev and laureate of the USSR State Prize Yevgeny Alekseevich Ignatyev, whose entire creative life was associated with the National Film Studio «Belarusfilm».

Evgeny Ignatyev worked as an artist on the set of the films «The Third Rocket», «The Lion’s Grave», «People in the Swamp», «Black Sun», Vyacheslav Kubarev – on the set of the films «The Black Stork», «Kruglyansky Bridge», «Alpine Ballad». Both masters worked in the production of films that became iconic for Belarusian cinema, brought wide fame to the national cinema, including at the international level, and were loved by many generations of viewers.

The exhibition exposition includes paintings by E.Ignatyev and V. Kubarev, as well as photographs. Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between BGAKFFD and the Republican Public Association «Belarusian Union of Cinematographers», digital copies of photo documents illustrating the work of the artist E.Ignatyev on film sets were transferred for the design of the exhibition exposition.

The exhibition is located in the Mikhail Savitsky Art Gallery at 15 Svobody Square, and will run until November 24.
