Meeting with students and teachers of the Uzda district of the Minsk region in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus

On October 29, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a meeting with students and teachers of the Uzda district of the Minsk region was held in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB).

Deputy Director of the NARB S.V.Kulinok addressed the guests with a welcoming speech.

Head of the Department of Personal Origin Funds I.V.Dorogush spoke about its history, structure, composition and features of document storage.

During the excursion, the guests got acquainted with the work of the reading room, exhibition and publication activities of the archive.

Students and teachers visited the archive of personal origin funds, where I.V.Dorogush acquainted them with documents from the personal archives of state, party and public figures, participants in the Great Patriotic War. In the repository of partisan formation funds, the head of the department of information retrieval systems O.Yu.Yurkevich, held a conversation on the history of the partisan movement and familiarized with the personal files of the command staff of partisan detachments and brigades, award sheets, photo albums and other documents.

To develop interest in studying their native land, the guests of the archive were presented with settlement lists of householders and registers of students of schools in the Uzda district of the Minsk district (according to the All-Union Population Census of 1926 and the All-Union School Census of 1927).

At the end of the meeting, the director of the Uzda district archive Zh.A.Ratskevich thanked NARB for organizing the excursion.
