On the training session for archivists of the Gomel region

Digitalization of documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus is today one of the priority areas of activity of state archival institutions of our country.

Creating an electronic copy of an archival document has several undeniable advantages. First of all, this is, of course, ensuring its safety, as well as an excellent opportunity for researchers and visitors to state archives to easily access the document of interest. At the same time, it is necessary to remember the proper quality of the created digital copies of the use fund.

Continuous improvement in this work and advanced training are of great importance here. It was for this purpose that representatives of the state archives of the Gomel region arrived at the state institution «Republican Laboratory of Digital Copying of Documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus» on October 29, 2024.

Here, a training session was organized for them, during which colleagues shared their experience of digitization with them. Such events are certainly an effective communication tool, because they provide an opportunity not only to improve qualifications, but also to share experiences and exchange opinions.
