Lecture at the Department of Corrections

On July 27, 2024, Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, candidate of historical sciences S.V.Kulinok gave a lecture «Liberation and Restoration of Minsk» at the Department of Corrections of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. More than 1.5 thousand people of the special contingent of convicts listened to the lecture online.

Using archival documents as an example, the speaker spoke about the Nazi occupation policy in the capital of Belarus, as well as the role of Belarusian partisans in Operation Bagration. The second part of the lecture was devoted to the restoration of the capital of the BSSR in the first post-war years. The key episode of this process was the development and adoption of the «General Plan for the Restoration and Development of Minsk» (1946). It was this document that largely determined the modern image of the Belarusian capital.
