A delegation from the Russian National Library visited the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On July 25, 2024, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARL) was visited by a delegation from the Russian National Library (hereinafter referred to as NLR) consisting of General Director D.O. Tsypkin, head of the rare books department N.V. Nikolaev and archaeographer of the sector of Russian funds XVIII –XXI centuries Department of Manuscripts I.A. Polyakov. They were met by the director of NARB A.K.Demyanuk, director of the National Historical Archive of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NIAB) M.M.Glushakov and deputy director of NARB, Ph.D. S.V.Kulinok.
During the meeting, the Russian delegation became familiar with the main areas of work of the NARB. Demyanuk A.K. spoke about the composition of archival funds, their information content and relevance. Kulinok S.V. elaborated on the publishing, exhibition and scientific activities of the archive and demonstrated the most important and relevant publishing projects of NARB. Glushakov M.M. spoke about the composition of documents in the NIAB collections and about the main directions of the archive’s work.
In turn, Director of the National Library D.O. Tsypkin spoke about the library’s work in the media field and outlined further prospects for development and cooperation with archival institutions.
During the meeting, possible options for cultural and scientific cooperation between NARB, NIAB and NLR were discussed. The Russian delegation was presented with printed publications prepared by NARB and was given a sightseeing tour of the archive.
