The State Archive of the Vitebsk Region held a presentation aimed at popularizing the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could»
On July 18, 2024, at the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin, the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could».
The audience was told about the work of the Belarusian Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents (BGAKFFD), and in particular – about the preparation of documentaries based on archival chronicles, about the fate of military cameramen; The fact of posting a chronicle on the history of Belarus on social networks, including on the social network YouTube (on the BGAKFFD page) was announced.
An assessment was given to the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» as one of the most important elements of the work of the archives of the republic in the year of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
These days mark the 80th anniversary of the most important operation of the Great Patriotic War – Operation Bagration. Those who came to the presentation were shown the chronicle-documentary film «Operation Bagration», prepared by BGAKFFD,
The film made a deep impression on Vitebsk viewers.
