On the implementation of the republican action «Archives to School» in the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation

On June 26, 2024, as part of the republican action «Archives to School,» the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation conducted an introductory tour for third-year students of the specialty «Historical and Archival Studies» of the Faculty of History of the BSU, who arrived for archival and information practice in the archive.

Student practice is a vital part of the training of highly qualified specialists, the purpose of which is to form an understanding of the work of archives. The student studies the structure and history of an archival institution, the main types of archive work, features of document storage, the process of interaction between archives of organizations, government agencies and state archives.

During the excursion, the archivist of the information and use of documents department N.A. Gornostaev spoke about the history of BGANTD and its structure, the composition and features of document storage. Students also visited archive departments and learned about the specifics of their work.
