The State Archive of the Grodno Region opened the exhibition «This is how the war began», timed to coincide with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War

The exhibition presents documents reflecting the events that took place in the Grodno region on the eve and in the first days of the Great Patriotic War: a fragment of instructions on providing the Red Army troops with baked bread and hot food by state and cooperative organizations in wartime, an order on the allocation of land for the construction of airfields, a resolution on preparation population to the PVHO, a fragment of a list of bread distribution points during the Nazi occupation in Grodno, an appeal from the German labor front to the residents of the Bialystok district with an appeal to work conscientiously for the benefit of the Reich, eyewitness accounts of the beginning of the war and other documents reflecting the anxious mood of society and the premonition of impending disaster .
