A patriotic hour «Echoes of War» was held in the state archive of public associations of the Gomel region

On June 19, 2024, on the eve of the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people, a patriotic hour «Echoes of War» was held at the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region».

The event was attended by students of the state educational institution «Gymnasium No. 10 in Gomel».

The students were presented with memories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War who participated in the defense of Gomel in 1941, personal files of members of the Gomel militia regiment, as well as documents indicating the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period.

In addition, as part of the meeting, archivists organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation», prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

In conclusion, a sightseeing tour of the archive was held, during which the children visited exhibitions of archival documents and photographs «War does not have a woman’s face» and «Heroes of the Great Victory», which are exhibited in the reading room of the state archive.
