On conducting an excursion to the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region», dedicated to the International Week of Archives

As part of the republican action «Archives to School» and during events dedicated to the International Week of Archives, on June 5, 2024, the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region» was visited by students from secondary school No.40 in Mogilev, who were in a summer health school camp.

During the excursion, leading archivist Svetlana Bryuzgina introduced students to the history of the creation of the archive, the main directions of its activities, the archive funds and the specifics of working with them, the conditions for storing documents, and the equipment of archival storage facilities. She focused the children’s attention on the fact that the main task of archivists is to preserve the documentary heritage and give people the opportunity to get acquainted with archival documents. The guys also got acquainted with the exhibitions presented: Defense of the city of Mogilev, Partisan movement, 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Mogilev, Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

At the end of the excursion, guests got acquainted with the museum exhibition on the history of the party archive.
