The director of the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» took part in the radio program «Pravda Guest» on the air of «Pravda Radio»

On June 3, 2024, on the eve of the International Day of Archives, the director of the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archives) A.N. Suschevich took part in the radio program «Pravda Guest» on the air of «Pravda Radio».

In his opening speech, the director of GAGom congratulated all archival workers on the holiday, wishing them good health, family well-being, success in their professional activities and a peaceful sky above their heads.

«It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of archivists to the accumulation, preservation and use of archival materials, which are an integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus», noted Andrei Suschevich.

In his speech, the director of the regional archive paid much attention to the issues of archival affairs and record keeping. He dwelled in detail on the structure of the state archival system of Belarus: republican, regional and zonal levels, territorial archives and the main powers in this area of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

During the event, Andrei Nikolaevich also told the audience about the history of the creation of the State Archive, its main activities, the versatile work carried out by archivists on the selection, storage and use of archival documents, about unique archival documents of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the important archives play a role in preserving the historical heritage of Belarus.
