May 30, 2024 as part of the «Open Film Archive» project. We brought this day closer as best we could,» dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archive) organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» for employees of the health care institution «Gomel University Clinic – Regional Hospital for Disabled Persons of the Great Patriotic War.»
Before watching the film, the director of the GAGom, A.N. Suschevich, told patients and medical workers about the project that was prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, where the story of the liberation of the cities of Belarus is told in chronological order. We talked about the need to preserve and develop patriotic values, about respect for the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War, about preventing the repetition of terrible events of the past and strengthening the national unity of the country.
«The memory of those who gave their lives defending their Motherland lives and will always live in our hearts,» noted the director of the archive.
After watching the documentary, the event participants were able to ask A.N. Suschevich exciting questions about the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War.
