Conducting a «Young Archivist» club class by the National Historical Archives of Belarus
On April 8, 2024, at the state educational institution «Secondary School No.27» in Minsk, the next lesson of the «Young Archivist» circle took place. Vladimir Denisov, leading researcher at the Department for the Use of Documents and Information of the NIAB, spoke to high school students. The topic of the lesson was «History of the Minsk City Hall (on the 525th anniversary of the city of Minsk receiving Magdeburg Law (1499))».
The circle participants got acquainted with electronic and paper copies of acts of the 16th century, reflecting the initial stage of the existence of city government in Minsk, court books of the 17th–18th centuries. about the functioning of the magistrate and the town hall, materials from the fund of the Minsk City Duma, revealing the history of the building of the Minsk town hall in the first half of the 19th century. Vladimir Nikolaevich also demonstrated images of the Minsk City Hall building in the works of artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Students participated in the work of the circle with great interest and asked numerous questions.
