On March 23, 2024, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the International Media Competition «Without a Statute of Limitations: Unconquered», organized by the Interregional Public Organization «Children’s Media Association «Boomerang», took place in Moscow
Since 2023, the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Cinema and Photographic Documents» has been one of the partners of the competition.
The young authors were faced with the task of creating media works about the genocide of the Soviet people with the use of audiovisual chronicles, which is a direct proof of the irrefutability of historical facts against the background of attempts to discredit and rewrite history. Specially for the competition, the audiovisual documents were provided free of charge by the Belarusian State Archive of Kinophotophonedocuments, the Russian State Archive of Kinophotodocuments and the Victory Museum.
Young filmmakers shot media works in the formats of video essay, book trailer, video poem, video report in one of the nominations: «The earth cried..»., «Hide me, mommy», «He was respected in the squad», «Life as a feat», «Retribution». Public viewing of media works is available on the website.
The artistic director of the competition and the chairman of the jury is Vladimir Grammatikov, a film director and honored artist of the Russian Federation.
Russian and Belarusian teenagers from 69 regional children’s film and media studios filmed 156 media works about peaceful Soviet residents who became victims of Hitler’s policy of mass extermination during the Great Patriotic War. The 13 best films were included in Kinoalmanak and were awarded state preservation in the Russian State Archive of Cinema and Photographic Documents and the Belarusian State Archive of Cinema and Photographic Documents, as well as posted for public viewing on the site of the Federal Project «Without a Statute of Limitations». Media works created by teenagers should be viewed as historical-documentary works that show rejection of Nazism on an emotional level. The value of the created media works lies, including, in the research work carried out by young authors.
Belarusian schoolchildren won in the nominations «The earth cried..». and «He was respected in the squad».
For the creation of a film, which was awarded state preservation as part of the National Archive Fund of the Republic of Belarus, diplomas were awarded to the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.224 of Minsk» (directors Nadezhda Mihailovna Voytiuk, Tatiana Kolodinskaya) for the film «Minaya’s Father’s Tragedy» and the media studio «IdeyKino» State Educational Institution «Secondary school No.27 of Minsk» (head Kartynnik Elena Vasilievna) for the film «Occupation».
Diplomas and commemorative souvenirs were handed over by Alla Kot, a member of the jury, chief custodian of the funds of the «Belarusian State Archive of Cinema and Photographic Archives».
The guests of the event were: Elena Malysheva – head of the National Center of Historical Memory of the President of the Russian Federation, honorary archivist of Russia; Nikolay Pestov is the director of the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, Rimma Moiseeva is the deputy director of the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents.
