BGAMLI became a participant in the Unified Open Day at the Faculty of History of BSU

On March 23, 2024, the director of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum, Elena Aleksandrovna Makarenko, took part in the Unified Open Day and the nationwide campaign of the Ministry of Education «I choose a profession.» The event brought together over 90 participants and was held in the format of a meeting of applicants and personnel customers.

E.A. Makarenko spoke about what connects her with the Faculty of History of BSU, emphasized the importance and significance of the classical education received at the faculty, introduced applicants and their parents to the activities of the archive-museum, and paid special attention to the popularization of the profession of «archivist.»

The meeting was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of History of BSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Alexander Gennadievich Kokhanovsky, Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of History of BSU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Alina Evgenievna Veremeychik, Head of the Department of History of Belarus of Modern and Contemporary Times, Deputy Dean on a voluntary basis for scientific work and international cooperation Anna Ivanovna Maskevich.

The event was joined by the chief researcher of the State Educational Institution «Academy of Education», Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Stepan Nikolaevich Temushev, head of the department of information retrieval systems and automated archival technologies of the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation Olga Konstantinovna Teternik, researcher of the scientific fund department of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Daria Yuryevna Latyshevich.

The Unified Open Day is aimed at developing the national education system and the effective use of human resources, promoting self-determination of applicants in choosing a profession, as well as the personnel needs of contracting organizations. During the event, high school students met representatives of admissions committees, as well as potential employers. The children were able to obtain information about the admissions campaign, new specialties and the specifics of studying at the Faculty of History, as well as targeted admissions. In addition, applicants learned about potential places of work where they could apply future competencies and skills.
