Meeting of the BSAFPSD team with a valeologist at the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital

On March 18, 2024, a lecture on drug addiction was given to employees of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents by the valeologist of the Dzerzhinsk Central District Hospital, Daria Sergeevna Efimovich. Archive workers learned about the types of narcotic drugs, the rules and practices of their use for medical purposes, the mechanism of drug addiction and some behavioral signs that indicate a person’s use of narcotic drugs.

Particular attention was paid to the problem of the spread of electronic cigarettes (vapes) among schoolchildren, which, although not possessing narcotic effects, nevertheless pose a great threat to the health of adolescents, who are their main consumers. Based on her experience of communicating with schoolchildren, Daria Sergeevna noted the psychological reasons that prompt schoolchildren to use vapes, and connected them with the dependence of teenagers on fashion and the opinions of friends. Considering the free distribution of electronic cigarettes on sale, the lecturer called for attention to the need for parents to participate in educational and explanatory work with schoolchildren regarding the dangers of using electronic cigarettes. At the end of the meeting, Daria Sergeevna Efimovich answered questions from BSAFPSD employees and wished everyone health and well-being.
