«Archives-to-school»: excursion for students-historians of the educational institution «Mogilev State University named after A.A.Kuleshova»

As part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the Year of Quality, on March 4, 2024, the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» was visited by 2nd year students of the specialty «History and Social Sciences» of the Faculty of History and Philology of the Educational Institution «Mogilev State University named after A.A.Kuleshova».

In the reading room, employees of the department for the scientific use of documents and information introduced students to the history of archival work in the Mogilev region and the peculiarities of the work of archivists. Documents on the history of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people during the war were presented to students.

The students were shown the film «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, and a conversation was held on the topic «Liberation of Mogilev in 1944».

The students visited a laboratory for digitizing documents and an archival storage facility, where the students were clearly shown the process of digital processing of documents and the conditions for storing documents in archival storage facilities.
