Meeting with students of the Specialized Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, members of the memorial detachment of Post No. 1 in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On February 29, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus with members of the memorial detachment of Post No. 1, which carries out the Honor Watch of Memory at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square. This time, the archive was visited by 31 students from the Specialized Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
The director of the archive, Andrei Konstantinovich Demyanyuk, delivered a welcoming speech to the lyceum students.
As part of the meeting, the children were given a tour of the archive. The head of the department of personal funds, Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush, spoke about its history, composition and features of document storage, and the work of the archive in the field of publishing and exhibition activities. During the excursion, students got acquainted with the photo-documentary exhibition of the National Archives «History of the development of the electoral system of the Republic of Belarus».
Students visited the archives of personal funds, where they got acquainted with documents of government and party leaders, scientists of Belarus and participants in the Great Patriotic War.
On March 4, a professional holiday is celebrated annually – the Day of the Belarusian Police, which was approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko dated March 26, 1998 No. 157. For students of the lyceum, archive staff I.V. Dorogush, T.I. Brileva, Kolobaeva U.A. prepared a set of documents on the history of the formation and development of various structures of the internal affairs bodies of our republic, which aroused keen interest among the children.
