Evening in memory of Lyavon Barazny in BGAMLI
On March 16, 1960, while working on the novel «Kalasy fell with your syarpom», Vladimir Korotkevich wrote in a letter to Yanka Bryl: «I know: it’s necessary to work. Another step for me is badai shto i ne dazena. I don’t need to chakats hell zhytstsya nemagchymaga. Magchyma, this forest fell on the shoulders of those three people of the whole kingdom of the people, if you will, this is a blessing to the forces of the Chalavechs». For many, Lyavon Borozna was one of these «thirty people» on whom Belarusian culture at a certain moment rested.
That is why on February 1, 2024, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art hosted a memorial evening and presentation of the exhibition «A person with a good soul…», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the artist, ethnographer and public figure Lyavon Borozny.
The event was attended by about 50 people, among whom were the artist’s daughters (Elena and Ekaterina), his friends and acquaintances – famous art critics O.A.Lobachevskaya and N.M.Usova, artists N.N.Kupava and N.V.Pilyuzina, employee of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences M.V.Malko, author of the documentary «Лявон Баразна. Адданае сэрца…» D.A.Ivchenko, designer and compiler of an album of works by Lyavon Borozny Nikolay Arakcheev and others.
