«Where a dream leads…». BGAMLI at the opening of the exhibition project «The Travels of Fyodor Konyukhov» at the NCCA
«At the beginning of the 20th century, Belarus gave a new impetus to the development of world art: Vladislav Strzheminsky, UNOVIS and Kazimir Malevich, artists of Vitebsk… I believe that in the 21st century Belarus will not just give an impetus, but will become the center of modern world art», this is how he expressed his dream artist and director of the National Center for Contemporary Arts Sergei Evgenievich Krishtapovich. It was she who became the target of numerous NCCA projects.
«Imagine your dream, mentally pave the way for its realization, and it will come true», this formula contains the recipe for realization of the world famous traveler, artist and priest Fyodor Konyukhov, his works also speak about this.
On December 1, 2023, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art attended the opening of a new exhibition project of the NCCA and the FARBA gallery «The Travels of Fyodor Konyukhov» (47 Nezavisimosti Ave.), which presented several dozen (out of more than 3000) paintings by Fyodor Konyukhov, formed during expeditions to Everest, Cape Horn, the North and South Pole, thematically similar works by Vadim Kachan and other Belarusian authors, as well as the immersive film «The Living Paintings of Fyodor Konyukhov».
Walking from the snow-whitened streets into a gallery with colorful, life-filled paintings by Fyodor Konyukhov, you can be filled with the light and emotions of his travels. Or just close your eyes and try to realize your dream.
