On the organization by the institution «Zonal State Archive in Orsha» of the exhibition «From the funds of the archive about the Komsomol of Orsha region»
On October 27, 2023, the institution «Zonal State Archives in Orsha» prepared an exhibition «From the archive funds on the Komsomol of the Orsha region», dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (VLKSM).
The Orsha city Komsomol organization is one of the oldest in the Vitebsk region. At the beginning of October 1918, the first cell was created from among the revolutionary youth of real school students. At the railway junction, progressive youth created their own organization – the Union of Young Communists. In November 1918, the Orsha district Komsomol committee was formed.
Komsomol members and youth of the Orsha region contributed to the construction of the first-born of the Belarusian energy sector – BelGRES, the Orsha-Lepel railway line, a flax processing plant and a meat processing plant. They took an active part in the construction of the Orsha-Smolyany, Orsha-Alexandria-Kopys, Orsha-Yakovlevich-Kokhanovo roads and others.
The exhibition presents documents from the funds of the State Archive in Orsha: decisions of the Orsha City Executive Committee on the winners in socialist competitions among Komsomol youth groups in Orsha, Komsomol and membership cards, registration cards of CPSU members, certificates of honor, letters of gratitude, reports, texts of speeches at ceremonial meetings, articles from newspapers, photographs of Bartashevich A.A., Leoshko B.A., Miloserdny A.K., Navogonsky E.E., Pitalenko I.V., Khachaturov M.Kh. and etc.
The exhibition is addressed to a wide range of people: schoolchildren, students, local historians, teachers and everyone interested in the history and culture of the region.
