On the placement of cartographic materials on the history of cities in Belarus at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 20th centuries.
As part of the «Cities of Belarus» project, the National Historical Archive of Belarus is identifying and posting on the Internet cartographic sources that reveal the history of the construction, architectural appearance and layout of settlements in Belarus at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 20th centuries. Throughout 2023, individual maps, plans and drawings of Minsk, Vitebsk, Bobruisk and other cities and towns were made publicly available. The next city whose history cartographic materials are presented in this project is Pinsk.
Maps and plans of Pinsk and its parts come from the funds «Minsk Provincial Drawing Office», «Minsk Provincial Administration», «Minsk Provincial Construction Commission», «Minsk Provincial Presence for Zemstvo and Urban Affairs» and the collection «Topographic maps and plans of villages, villages, estates of the Minsk province.»
The identification and selection of materials on the history of the city of Pinsk was carried out by the leading researcher at the Scientific Research Institute of Belarus, Vladimir Denisov.
