On the organization of special vocational schools for children of front-line soldiers and partisans

The occupation of the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War caused significant damage to educational institutions that were part of the structure of the Main Directorate of Labor Reserves under the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR. Their material base was destroyed, and the problem of personnel was acute.

At the same time, the restoration of the national economy of Mogilev and the region required a significant number of workers in mass professions for all sectors of industry and transport.

That is why, on September 25, 1944, a joint resolution was adopted by the executive committee of the Mogilev Regional Council of Workers’ Deputies and the bureau of the regional committee of the Communist Party of Belarus (Bolsheviks) of Belarus «On the preparation of the organization of special vocational schools for the children of front-line soldiers and partisans»; a decision was made to create special vocational schools in the city Mogilev and Bobruisk for 400 students each.

Persons who graduated from vocational schools were considered mobilized, were required to work for 4 years in a row at state enterprises at the direction of the Main Directorate of Labor Reserves under the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR (providing them with a salary at the place of work on a general basis) and enjoyed deferments for conscription into the Red Army and the Military. naval fleet for the period until the expiration of the mandatory period for work in state enterprises.
