The YouTube channel of the National Historical Archive of Belarus posted a video tutorial “How to independently conduct genealogical research in the National Historical Archive of Belarus: Orthodox”. In it, Deputy Head of the Department of Research and Publication Activities Evgeniy Glinsky talks about searching for information in the archive to compile a genealogy if your ancestors professed Orthodoxy. The peculiarities of maintaining metric books in the Orthodox Church are noted, the degree of their preservation for different regions of Belarus is characterized, and attention is drawn to other types of sources containing genealogical information about representatives of the Orthodox denomination.
