Signing of a cooperation agreement between the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» and the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 75 in Gomel»
On August 16, 2023, in a solemn atmosphere, as part of the implementation of the republican pilot project «Young Archivist», an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» and the state educational institution «Secondary School No.75 of Gomel».
The solemn event, which took place on the basis of the educational institution, was attended by the director of the archive Sushchevich A.N., deputy director of the archive Mitskevich A.P., employees of the archive, director of the school Chernenko M.V., deputy director for educational work Pinchuk A.V., teachers, students.
Director of the archive Sushchevich A.N. spoke to the audience, who spoke about the goals and objectives of the pilot project «Young Archivist», about the prospects for research work in the archive for children and teachers and confidence in significant results from joint work in the future.
Andrey Nikolaevich thanked the principal of the school, Marina Vladimirovna, teachers and children, expressing confidence in successful cooperation and donated books prepared on the basis of archival documents to the school.
The directors exchanged signed agreements and a work plan for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Further, the staff of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 75 of Gomel» invited the archive staff to take part in the school-wide action «Dove of Peace», dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation. Director of the Archive Sushchevich A.N., Deputy Director Mitskevich A.P., Head. department Aleksandrovich Z.A. in the school yard on the “Tree of Life” they placed «doves of peace», making a wish, which, according to the assurance of the school staff, always come true.
Also, the director of the school Chernenko M.V. conducted a tour of the permanent exhibitions of the school and spoke about future plans in this direction, including with the participation of the archive.
Summing up, we can say with confidence that the signed agreement will contribute to a multi-level approach to the study of history, students’ awareness of their social identity as citizens of their country, fostering a sense of patriotism and respect for historical heritage.
