On holding a solemn event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the National Historical Archives of Belarus

On June 30, 2023, a solemn event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the National Historical Archive of Belarus was held in the lobby of the 1st floor and the large conference hall of the Belarus Hotel (Minsk, Storozhevskaya St., 15). It should be noted that the NIA of Belarus, which in Soviet times functioned under the name of the Central State Historical Archive of the BSSR, was formed in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the BSSR of July 5, 1938 «On the reorganization of archival bodies in connection with the formation of regions in the BSSR» .

As part of the festive event, a solemn meeting of the archive’s labor collective was held with the participation of numerous guests. At it, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Kot, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Voinov, Deputy Director of the NIA of Belarus Irina Kovganova, Head of the Organizational Department of the Minsk City Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union employees of state and other institutions Zhanna Sivets, director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archiving Andrei Rybakov, as well as heads of other republican archival institutions, head of the educational institution «Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus» Yuri Kamenetsky, deputy dean of the Faculty of History Belarusian State University Anna Maskevich, Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Source Studies of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University Mikhail Shumeiko, Head of the Department of the History of Belarus in the 9th–18th centuries. and Archaeography of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Dovnar, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Public Association «Belarusian Peace Fund» Georgy Kozel.

At the meeting, the following employees of the NIA of Belarus were awarded for conscientious work by the state authorities of the archival industry: Vladimir Kozlov, head of the archives of the department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds, was awarded a diploma of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus; Gratitude of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus was announced to the leading researcher of the department of research and publication activities Sergey Ryndin and the deputy head of the department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds Tatyana Sheveleva; Certificates of honor of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus were awarded to Chief Accountant Galina Goloviy, archivist of the 1st category of the Department for the Preservation of Documents and Funds Natalia Alipchenko, Lead Engineer of the Engineering and Technical Support Group Valery Tsimbrovsky; Gratitude of the Department for Archives and Paperwork of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus is announced to the leading researcher of the Department for the use of documents and information Vladimir Denisov; Olga Karaffa-Korbut, Head of the Sector of Exhibition Activities, Thematic and Genealogical Research of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information; Anna Karpechenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Information Retrieval Systems; Nadezhda Kokhan, Leading Archivist of the Documentary Support Group; ensuring the safety of documents and funds Sofia Trotsevskaya, the head of the sector for working with users of the department for the use of documents and information Oksana Rasskazova.

Warm words of gratitude for many years of work in the archive and flowers were received by veterans of the National Historical Archive of Belarus – Alla Golubovich, Natalya Levchik, Galina Barsukova, Olga Akula, Irina Mazurenko, Maria Ulyanova, Svetlana Pavlovich, as well as persons who have more than 40 years of experience in the archive years – Sofia Trotsevskaya and Galina Kutukova.

For the event, in the lobby of the 1st floor of the hotel «Belarus», an anniversary exposition of the archive was launched, which consisted of three parts: a banner exhibition «To the National Historical Archive of Belarus – 85», an exhibition of photographs about everyday life and the activities of the archive in the 1940s-1980s ., exhibitions of scientific publications of the National Historical Archives of Belarus. The materials presented at the anniversary exposition aroused great interest among those present.
