On the participation of the Zonal State Archives in Orsha in a festive rally dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus
Employees of the State Archives in Orsha took part in a festive meeting dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.
July, 3 Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus is the main holiday of the Belarusian statehood. This is a historically significant date in the fate of the country, which has become a symbol of freedom and peace. On this day, Minsk was liberated from the German occupation. The decision to celebrate Independence Day on July 3 was made during a republican referendum in 1996. The meaning of the memory of our common victory knows no equal, because behind attempts to distort its meaning is the struggle to change our consciousness. Respect for the historical past forms a sense of national pride, teaches to love the Motherland.
Many generations of Belarusians aspired to independence. On the historical path to it, our people had to go through the most difficult stages, to endure colossal political pressure. And today we have a unique opportunity to live in an independent country that independently determines development priorities, domestic and foreign policies. This is something to be proud of and cherish.
