On the participation of the Zonal State Archives in Orsha in events dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people

June 22, 1941 is one of the saddest dates in the history of Belarus, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. This day reminds of all the dead, tortured in fascist captivity, who died in the rear from hunger and deprivation. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, June 22 was declared the Day of National Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.

Belarusians are one of the most affected nations as a result of the war. The remains of millions of people are buried in the Belarusian land, not only those who died on the battlefield, but also methodically, cold-bloodedly killed during the genocide of the civilian population.

On June 22, on the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people, specialists of the State Archive in Orsha laid flowers at the memorial sign of the liberators.
