About the lesson of courage «War. Victory. Memory…» dedicated to Victory Day with students of the 5th class of the state educational institution «Secondary school No.3, Gomel named after D.N.Penyazkov» as part of the action «Archives-school»

On May 2, 2023, on the eve of Victory Day, employees of the «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» held a lesson in courage «War. Victory. Memory…» with students of the 5th class of the state institution of education «Secondary school No.3, Gomel, named after D.N. Penyazkov».

As part of the «Archives – School» action, a visit to the exhibitions of archival documents and photographs «Heroes of Gomel Land» and «1418 Terrible Days» was organized for students.

In addition, the video clips «Signing of the Act of Capitulation of Germany» and the video clip «About the Great Victory» were shown for the children.

At the end of the event, schoolchildren got acquainted with the originals of the personal files of the members of the Gomel regiment of the people’s militia, which are permanently stored in the state archive, and learned about the main directions of the archive’s work during a tour of the archive.
