The National Historical Archives of Belarus held events dedicated to the Day of Occupational Safety and Health and International Zero Injury Week

On April 28, 2023, a number of events were held at the National Historical Archives of Belarus to coincide with Occupational Safety and Health Day and International Zero Injury Week.

Leading engineer Valery Leonidovich Tsimbrovsky spoke at the general meeting of the team with an informational report on the goals and objectives of holding such a Day and Week, the concept of «Zero Injury» (Eng. – «Vision Zero») and a set of measures within its framework, developed by the International Social Security Association, as well as on the results achieved in the Republic of Belarus in reducing injuries and deaths at work over the past decade.

In accordance with the Action Plan to improve fire safety, a training session was also held to practice the evacuation of the archive staff and the actions of the voluntary fire brigade, as well as the staff on duty in case of a fire. During the training, the archive fire alarm system was also checked. At the final meeting, the goals and objectives of the training were recognized as achieved, the warning and signaling system was fully operational, and the actions of the voluntary fire brigade were accurate and well-coordinated.

In order to improve the educational level of training, the staff of the archive prepared an exhibition of original documents on the history of the development of fire fighting in Belarus in the pre-revolutionary period.
