On participation in the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Problems of Source Studies»

April 27–28, 2023 in Vitebsk on the basis of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Problems of Source Studies» was held, organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communications of the Educational Institution «Vitebsk State University named after P.M.Masherov», State Institution «National Archive of the Republic of Belarus», State Institution «National Historical Archive of Belarus», St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Termez State University. About 250 researchers from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the conference in various forms (full-time, remote, part-time).

NIA of Belarus was presented by Deputy Director Maxim Makarov (report «Two maps of the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from the funds of the National Historical Archive of Belarus»), Deputy Head of the Department of Research and Publication Evgeny Glinsky (report «Conclusions of the gentry by the Zemyans of Slutsk and Kopyl principalities in the XVII-XVIII centuries: interpretation and verification of information») and leading researcher of the department of research and publication activities Sergey Ryndin (report «Development of photography in the Vitebsk province (second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries»). The reports are based on historical documents, which are stored in the NIA of Belarus, so they aroused considerable interest among the conference participants, and representatives of the archive answered numerous questions.

As part of the event, a stand exhibition «National Historical Archives of Belarus – 85» and a presentation of scientific publications of the archive were held.
