On participation in the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Problems of Source Studies»
April 27-29, 2023 on the basis of Vitebsk State University named after P.M.Masherov, the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Problems of Source Studies» is being held. The Vitebsk conference takes place every two years and is one of the largest and most representative scientific events in the field of source studies in the post-Soviet space. More than 250 researchers from educational institutions and research centers of Belarus, Russia, and Uzbekistan take part in the work of the conference in person and in absentia.
The organizers of the scientific forum are VSU named after P.M.Masherov, National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (NARB), National Historical Archives of Belarus, St.Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Termez State University.
The Rector of VSU named after P.M.Masherov, Professor V.V.Bogatyreva and the Director of the NARB A.K.Demyanuk addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
At the plenary session, the deputy director of the NIAB, candidate of historical sciences M.D.Makarov (report «Two maps of the era of the Vyalikag of the Principality of Lithuania from the fund of the National Historical Archive of Belarus») and the head of the publications department of the NARB, candidate of historical sciences S.V.Kulinok (report «The Special Formation of the SS of Oscar Dirlewanger in Belarus: a Review of Sources»).
The sections were attended by: Researcher of the NARB Publications Department T.N.Ageenko (report «On the question of the activity of the Vitebsk Historical Center»), deputy head of the publications department of NARB I.A.Vishnevsky (report «Materials of the archive of the Belarusian Renewal Synod as a source of study of repression against the Orthodox clergy»), deputy Head of the Research and Publication Department of NIAB, E.S.Glinskyi (report «Inferences of the nobility by landowners of the Slutsk and Kapila principalities in the 17th-18th centuries: interpretation and verification of data»), deputy Head of the Department of Information and Search Systems of the NARB V.Yu.Monzul (report «Information Potential of Protocols of City and District (in cities) Party Conferences of the Byelorussian SSR 1945-1953 on the History of Everyday Life»), leading researcher of the scientific research department of NIAB S.N.Ryndzin (report «Development of photographic business in Vitebsk province (second half of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century)»).
As part of the conference, there was a presentation of NARB and NIAB publications. The participants of the conference also got acquainted with the exhibitions of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus «Without a statute of limitations. Belarus», «The hut is a shrine of national memory» and NIAB «National historical archive of Belarus – 85».
