Conducting a lesson for 9th grade students as part of the “Archives for School” campaign

On April 7, 2023, as part of the “Archives to School” campaign, the institution “The State Archive of the Grodno Region” held a lesson on the topic “Post-war reconstruction of the city of Grodno” for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution “Gymnasium No. 1 in Grodno”.

During the lesson, the archive staff told the students about the damage and atrocities inflicted on the city of Grodno during the Nazi occupation, as well as about the subsequent restoration of the city. The students were presented with unique and most interesting documentary materials stored in the archive.

The students were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the archives, where they got acquainted with the conditions for storing documents and saw especially valuable archival copies, which are unique evidence of the historical past of the Grodno region.
