«Archives for School»: visiting the archive by students of the educational institution «Mogilev State College of Arts»

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, on March 22 and 23, excursions were held at the State Archives of the Mogilev Region for students of the educational institution «Mogilev State College of Arts».

Head of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information O.V. Trotskaya and archivist of the 1st qualification category A.V. Petukhov introduced students to the history of the archive, the composition of archival funds, and the specifics of the work of the institution’s employees. The interest of the students was caused by the description of the work of the reading room and the library fund of the archive, close to their specialty. They also got acquainted with documents about Belarusian villages burned during the years of occupation, including the village of Borki, Kirovsky District, a collection of documents «Without a statute of limitations. Mogilev Region», an exhibition at the stand «Mogilev Sisters of Khatyn».

The archive staff showed the guests the equipment of the laboratory for digitizing archival documents. Archivist of the 2nd qualification category O.V. Klebcha conducted a tour of the archives and told the students about the organization and conditions for storing documents.
