Meeting with students of school No. 121 in Minsk at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On March 6, 2023, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives with students of school No. 121 in Minsk named after M.F.Egorov.
Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush, head of the department of funds of personal origin, conducted a tour of the archive, spoke about its history, composition and features of storing documents, and the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities. During the tour, students got acquainted with the photo-documentary exhibitions of the National Archives dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation: «We, Belarusians are peaceful people…» and to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marat Fedorovich Yegorov, a public figure, chairman of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, president of the International Humanitarian Non-Governmental organization «Chernobyl-Help», Honored Worker of Culture of the BSSR, participant in the Great Patriotic War. In 2022, School No. 121 in Minsk received the status of «School of Peace» and was named after Marat Yegorov. The students showed great interest in the documents of the Marat Fedorovich Foundation. They said that they were looking for biographical information about him and planned to arrange an exposition dedicated to Egorov M.F. To assist in the design of the school exhibition, the staff of the National Archives Department of Personal Origins prepared and handed over to the school photocopies of documents from his personal collection.
The students visited the archives of funds of personal origin, where they got acquainted with the documents of state and party leaders, scientists of Belarus and participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the archives of funds of partisan formations.
