Meeting with members of the memorial detachments of Post No. 1 of the Hero City of Minsk in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On March 2, 2023, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus with members of the memorial detachment of Post No. 1, carrying the Honorary Watch of Memory at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square. This time the archive was visited by 31 students of the Specialized Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
The director of the archive Andrey Konstantinovich Demyanuk delivered a welcoming speech to the lyceum students.
As part of the meeting, the children were given a tour of the archive. The head of the department of funds of personal origin, Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush, spoke about the history of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, about the composition and features of storing documents, the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the photo-documentary exhibitions of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation: «We Belarusians are peaceful people…» and to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yegorov Marat Fedorovich, a public figure, chairman of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, humanitarian non-governmental organization «Chernobyl-help», Honored Worker of Culture of the BSSR, participant in the Great Patriotic War.
The students visited the archives of funds of personal origin, where they got acquainted with the documents of state and party leaders, scientists of Belarus and participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the archives of funds of partisan formations. For students of the lyceum, the archive staff Dorogush I.V., Yurkevich O.Yu. prepared a set of documents on the history of the formation and development of various structures of the internal affairs bodies of our republic, which aroused keen interest among the children.
