On the meeting of archivists of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» with students of the 8th grade of the state educational institution «Secondary School No. 3 of Gomel named after D.N.Penyazkov»

On February 28, 2023, within the framework of the «Archives for School» campaign, employees of the «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» institution held a lesson on the topic «We are patriots of Belarus» with students of the 8th grade of the state educational institution «Secondary School No. 3 of Gomel named after D.N.Penyazkov».

The children were told a brief history of the formation of archiving in Belarus, about the composition of the stored documents of the state archive and their transfer to electronic media.

In addition, in accordance with the plan of the information and educational project «Schools of the Active Citizen. SAC» a representative of the military unit No. 63604, the head of the artillery storage department, Captain Evgeny Vladimirovich Vasilyev, was invited to the event, who, as part of the lesson, conducted career guidance work with the guys and told them about the concepts of the Motherland and the small Motherland, the importance of preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War.

In conclusion, the students were given a tour of the archive, during which the children got acquainted with the main areas of its work, and also got acquainted with the exhibition of archival documents and photographs «They defended Gomel in the first months of the Great Patriotic War».
