On February 17, 2023, the institution «State Archive of the Gomel region» on the basis of the GUO «Secondary School No. 1 of Gomel» held lessons on the topic: «Gomel region is 85 years old»

On February 17, 2023, in the Year of Peace and Creation, within the framework of the Archives-School campaign, Senior researcher of the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents of the State Archive of the Gomel Region institution, Drozdova A.M. conducted two lessons on the basis of the Secondary School No. 1 of Gomel for grades 7-8 on the topic: «Gomel region has turned 85 years old.»

The purpose of the event is information education and patriotic education of students based on archival documents of the regional archive.

During the meeting, students learned how the Gomel Region was formed on the basis of archival documents and photographs. As part of the campaign, the children got a unique opportunity to get acquainted in detail with previously unknown facts from the history of the Gomel region.

At the end of the event, Drozdova A.M. told what the archive is, what unique documents are stored in a state institution.
